Prostitution in the Philippines

Prostitution in the Philippines

It is well known that Prostitution in the Philippines is illegal

Prostitution in the Philippines has become a multimillion dollar
industry and is now the fourth largest source of gross national product.

Commissioned by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the
report, Child Pornography in the Philippines, said new technology such
as the internet has taken pornography to a new level that is much
harder to detect.

It said poor, developing countries like the Philippines have now become
major centers for the global sex tourism industry where women and
children are exploited. The report said the growth of prostitution in
developing countries was "inextricably intertwined with sex tourism."

Although some people believe that prostitution should be legalized, my reasoning behind it is different.

Nevertheless opinions vary like “It should be legalized for health, and better
Controls. And possibly to kick the bad elements
out of that game. To reduce the abuse the
sex-worker goes through, and control the spread of
Diseases from the industry”

Prostitution has been around for centuries worldwide. I believe it’s a problem with the society here in the Philippines and other poor countries. Provide people with jobs and they wouldn’t not have to do it!

My final word is that it should be controlled a little better than it is right now in order to avoid under age protitutes.

Very interesting, I agree that internet porn trade needs to be policed to help prevent the all too frequent child abuse.

If the government provided decent jobs and decent pay no one would have to prostitute. Children are at risk.
